“I Can’t afford to think a thought about myself that God doesn’t think” – Bill Johnson

There is no value in thinking less of yourself. The Devil comes to steal, kill and destroy. If you believe that you hold no value, that your life is not significant, that you have nothing to offer this world, then you believe what deception has to say about you, not God. If you believe that you have nothing of value to offer then you will never take time to consider, “What do I actually possess that other people need?”. Jesus said, “YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD”…….interesting.

I recently heard a story of someone who believes in God that said, “There is nothing good in me.”.  Now I can see how that statement has the outward appearance of godliness, but the truth is, is that it holds no practical value. (And just to prove that the kingdom of heaven is very practical, Jesus said in Luke 12:25-26 “Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to your life? Since you cannot do this very little thing, why do you worry about the rest?” That is sexy!) You see when you become born again the VERY Spirit of God comes and makes his home in you. If you say “there is nothing good in me” you speak contrary to the glory of God. Do not be deceived my good peoples. If you speak ill against your very nature, that came from God, then what else do you have to work with. Arrogance is not thinking too highly of yourself, it’s thinking too low of others. It is ignorance to think low of yourself.

Jesus said in John 20:21 “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.” This is what is says about Jesus: Hebrews 1:3 says, “The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his being….”. Here’s what it says about us: 2 corinthians 3:18 “And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” And, Romans 8:28-30 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.”

Jesus said as the father sent me so I sent you. Jesus was the exact representation of the father, the radiance of God’s glory. We are being conformed to the image of Jesus, who is the image of the father. This is from the Lord, meaning this is his purpose. You see those he foreknew (knew ahead of time) he predestined (destination decided beforehand) to be conformed to the image of the son.  Now the son (Jesus) was the first born of many brothers and sisters. Jesus became like us so we could be like him. When we lay down to be baptized, we die the death Jesus died. When we are raised up, we are raised to life with the life Jesus was raised with. So that what was reborn was not born of perishable seed but of imperishable (1 Peter 1:23). Jesus was the radiance of God’s glory. Jesus said that we are the light of the world and he said let your light so shine. Isaiah 61:3 “…They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

My good peoples, we represent, display and are partakers of the glory and goodness of God. That is our identity. If we continue to be deceived and believe that “we hold no value”, that “there is nothing good in us”, that “we suck”, “there is only darkness in us”, then we actually devalue the very God we are trying to display as good. You can’t be darkness and light at the same time. You can’t believe a lie and a truth at the same time. Very plainly that means that we can’t believe “dumb crap”! Think and act from the TRUTH that comes from the living and enduring word of God. There is no value in holding a thought about yourself, others, or situations that God is not thinking. Change the way you think Change your life.

PEACE!
