In Ephesians 1:18-23 Paul says,
“I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.”
The incomparably great power God has for us, is the same power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him at the right hand of God in the heavenly places. In regards to the place where Jesus is seated, Paul says in Ephesians 2:6-7,
“And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus.”
This is interesting, where Christ is seated? He is seated, “far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come.” So Christ is seated in a place of authority that is higher than anything else that was, is and will be created. Where are we seated? We are seated with Christ, “God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus”.
Paul said, “And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.” So Christ is the head of the church and the church is his body. Every has been placed under his feet. What are your feet attached to? Your body. Who makes up the body of Christ? The church. What is under the church? Whatever is under Jesus’ feet. Wow. Pour that over your cereal in the morning.
