In Colossians 4:6 Paul says,” Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.”
I looked up the greek word for grace and it gave this definition: Graciousness of manner or act – acceptable, benefit, favor, gift, grace, joy, liberality, pleasure.
I looked up the word “liberality” and it gave these synonyms: bigheartedness, bountifulness, bounty, generosity, generousness, openheartedness, unselfishness.
To say it another way, “let your conversation overflow from the glory you live in.” Out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks. This kind of perspective that would generate speech full of “grace”, comes from a life that is rooted and established in the knowledge of the image of the creator (Colossians 3:10).
Colossians 3:16 says, “ Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.”
What you continually cultivate in your mind is what overflows out of your heart, by way of you mouth. Let your conversation overflow from the glory you live in!
